Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has urged Alexis Mac Allister to continue letting his performances do the talking after his starred for the Reds against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Mac Allister scored and was superb throughout, just one day after claiming he was "sad" because Liverpool hadn't offered him a contract extension like Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai.
"I thought his performance tonight was outstanding," Gerrard said on TNT Sports. "Let your football do the talking. Consistency, top performance; show your experience. Show you're a top international. This club will reward you."
Mac Allister netted the winning goal after Szoboszlai leveled. He slammed in a shot from outside the box that went past Jan Oblak, before celebrating wildly in front of The Kop.
Only a day earlier, he spoke openly to reporters about his desire to remain at Anfield beyond 2028, when his existing deal expires. Mac Allister will be approaching 30 by that stage.
"There was a chance [I could have left the club in the summer]," Mac Allister admitted on Tuesday.

"As everyone knows, I received the news that the club was not in a position to offer me a new contract, which makes me very, very sad.
"Everyone can see I give my 100 per cent for this football club, every single day in training and games. Of course I can have very good games, very bad games like everyone. I always give my best.
"And I see Dominik and Ryan renewing their contracts, and that makes me very happy because they deserve it, but at the same time it makes me a little bit sad that I didn't get mine.
"Of course, there is still time. The fans don't need to worry because I will give my 100 per cent until the last day I'm here.

"We will see what happens. There were options to leave this summer, and I think right now I'm in the right club and I have the mindset to give my 100 per cent for this club."
Liverpool.com says: If Mac Allister plays like this every week, then he will be due a new deal. He was really, really strong here in all departments and managed being on a harsh booking well.
Last year, though, he was well below the required level. It would have been crazy for Liverpool to hand him an extension then. As Gerrard says, it is up to the player to prove himself as an elite performer.
