Will TreVeyon Henderson Play vs. Seahawks? Latest News on Week 1 Status of Patriots RB

The Seattle Seahawks and [New England Patriots](https://nesn.com/new-england-patriots) will meet on Wednesday night in what figures to be one of the best games of Week 1.

The NFL season is finally here, an exciting time for two fan bases expecting their teams to be among the best in the NFL once again. A Super Bowl rematch on night one is exciting, but other factors are at play.

For one, the Patriots are hopeful their new-look offense, which includes A.J. Brown, can remain one of the best in the NFL. The Seahawks, who were very good from top to bottom, added and lost some players throughout this offseason, with the big loss being Kenneth Walker.

Speaking of running backs, the Patriots won't have one of their top offensive options either. According to the [Patriots' injury report](https://www.patriots.com/team/injury-report/), running back TreVeyon Henderson has already been ruled out. Henderson, who is expected to be one of the more important pieces of this offense, is out with an ankle injury.

With this just being Week 1, there isn't much of a worry about what the future looks like for Henderson in terms of being out for an extended period of time.

Ultimately, the Patriots have to be smart in everything they do, considering they're trying to get back to a Super Bowl. Winning in Week 1 would be nice, but it's not the end-all, be-all.

Making sure Henderson is healthy matters far more than any win right now.
