TOMLIN COMPLIMENTS GARRETT
T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett have often been compared in their careers. There are multiple reasons for that. They’re both edge rushers, they were part of the same draft class, and they both played in the AFC North, at least until Garrett was traded this offseason. Steelers and Cleveland Browns fans have often argued about which player is better. Mike Tomlin has his answer, though, at least for this season.
Pro Football Focus shared a clip from Tomlin’s recent appearance on their podcast, and he was asked who the best player in the NFL is right now. Tomlin’s answer was Garrett. That’s fair, considering that the pass rusher is coming off a year where he broke the single-season sack record. However, Watt may bounce back this year and reignite the conversation.
Who is the best damn player in football, according to Mike Tomlin?

PITT TE TALKS BEING AROUND STEELERS
The Steelers are unique in that they share a facility and field with the University of Pittsburgh. While that’s caused some drama in the past, particularly in how much the field gets beat up, it still provides some benefits.
Pitt tight end Carson Kent talked about that recently, as shared by radio station 93.7 The Fan on Twitter. Kent transferred to Pitt this year after playing at Oklahoma and Kennesaw State. However, he chose to come to Pitt in part because of their closeness to the Steelers. He sees it as a huge advantage for college players.
Yeah, it is a big deal for #Pitt football to share a facility w the #Steelers

Antonio Brown Court Update
Facing an attempted murder charge, the alleged victim in the case against Antonio Brown reportedly doesn’t wish to testify after forgiving Brown. ESPN’s Anthony Olivieri reported the news Wednesday evening.
“The alleged victim in Antonio Brown’s second-degree attempted murder case in Miami “does not wish to participate” in the former NFL star’s prosecution, according to a statement from his lawyer on Wednesday.
Brown’s attorney said he hopes the state of Florida drops the case, stating Brown was innocent from the beginning.”
The charge stems from a 2025 incident in Miami, Florida where Brown is alleged to have shot a gun at an individual during a boxing event. Video appears to show Brown carrying a gun and walking after someone. Brown claimed innocence under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” laws.
Brown’s lawyer admitted he doesn’t expect the state to immediately drop the case. It’s also possible the trial continues. In February, the trial date was set for January 2027.
Since being extradited from Dubai, Brown has been on house arrest.
TOMLIN MEMES
Mike Tomlin was a fixture in the NFL for a long time. He coached the Steelers for almost 20 years. However, he stepped down this offseason to take a role on television. That’s letting Tomlin express a little more of his personality.
That includes letting Tomlin laugh at himself. A video was recently released of Tomlin recreating some of the memes made about him. He had plenty of viral moments with the Steelers. While Tomlin could still return to the NFL one day, he certainly seems happy in his new role. However, never say never.
