Nike, Lakers unveil "Specter Edition" jersey
Nike has given the Los Angeles Lakers a new “Specter Edition” jersey, a premium alternate uniform designed to celebrate the franchise’s rich history and connection to the city.
The new jersey collection was created for eight of the NBA’s oldest and most historic franchises: the Lakers, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks.
Nike, NBA releases Standard Issue Collection
Primarily, the unveiling of the Los Angeles Lakers’ new alternate jersey is part of a larger NBA and Nike initiative, the NBA Standard Issue Collection, which features new lifestyle, travel, and warm-up apparel for all 30 teams.
This upcoming season, NBA players will wear the new collection during games, warmups, practices, and team travel.
The collection will be released in two retail drops, with the first arriving on Sept. 15 and the second on Oct. 12. Meanwhile, the new Specter Edition jerseys will be released separately later this fall.
