Pablo Torre could face lawsuits after being the driving force behind the investigation that led to the Los Angeles Clippers and Steve Ballmer receiving harsh punishment from the NBA.
NBA insider Chris Mannix dropped the report on Open Floor: SI's NBA Show along with Rachel Nichols.
“There were people [with the Clippers] saying this [investigation] was gonna end in lawsuits against Pablo," Mannix revealed.
"I had somebody tell me ‘You’re calling Steve Ballmer a liar? You better be careful: you could get sued too.’"

Award-winning investigative journalist Pablo Torre caused shockwaves across the league when he revealed that the Los Angeles Clippers, through a now-bankrupt green company Aspiration, have a no-show deal to illegally pay Kawhi Leonard.
This massive revelation triggered league uproar and investigation, prompting the NBA to drop the hammer and slap the Clippers with the harshest punishment in NBA history a year later.
Steve Ballmer and Gillian Zucker were suspended for one year, team president Lawrence Frank is out of the office for six months, while the Clippers organization was ordered to pay $30 million fine and surrender all their first-round picks from 2029 to 2033.
The Clippers have vehemently rejected the NBA's decision, notably insisting in a team release that they will contest the ruling in whatever way they can.
After recently revealing that Ballmer was responsible for the Clippers' harsh punishment from the NBA, Torre appears determined to continue reporting on the team's alleged salary-cap manipulation, despite the possibility of facing a lawsuit or other consequences.
