Liverpool transfer news and rumors latest as an update is given on Alexis Mac Allister's future, amid links emerge over a possible January move for AS Roma's Manu Kone

Liverpool has finished its summer business in the transfer window, but work is already underway for the coming markets, where the team could strengthen further.
Despite spending plenty in the past few months, the Reds still have several problem areas to consider ahead of the winter market, and possible transfer windows beyond that.
The midfield remains one area of potential concern, while there are also issues at right-back, with Liverpool considering transfer options in those positions. So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news ahead of another busy day of action.

Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister recently revealed his sadness at not being offered a new contract by the club, as he enters the final two years of his deal at Anfield.
With that in mind, Fabrizio Romano claims that a transfer exit cannot be ruled out next year, despite the midfielder claiming that he is committed to the Reds moving forward.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: "It’s also important to mention that if this new contract will not happen anytime soon, I would not close the doors to a potential exit for Alexis Mac Allister in 2027.
“I mean, likely in the summer, but if the new contract is not getting done in the next few months, I think there is a possibility Alexis decides to leave before his contract expires at Liverpool.
“Because Alexis wants to feel important. He’s showing his love for Liverpool, but he wants to feel important. So, that’s going to be, for sure, an important story to follow.”
Liverpool.com says: Mac Allister's message surrounding his contract appeared to be a pointed message to the Liverpool board, making it clear that he wants to stay and sign a deal, but without hiding his disappointment at not already being handed a contract.
The situation may be delicate, however, due to several factors. One of those is that Liverpool is lacking a sporting director, after Richard Hughes' exit, so a decision-maker isn't present to discuss a contract.
On top of that, there may be concerns over Mac Allister's age profile and his performances last season, which would stop the side from committing to a big new deal.

Liverpool has been heavily linked with midfielders for the next year, with AS Monaco's Lamine Camara among those named with interest from the Reds.
However, AS Roma's Manu Kone has seemingly emerged as a target, as David Ornstein has explained when looking ahead to potential future deals.
He said on The Athletic FC podcast: "Lamine Camara, Chelsea. There’s interest from Liverpool, other clubs as well. Manu Kone, from the aforementioned Roma. He came very close to joining Chelsea before they pivoted to Lamine Camara.
“Let’s see what position Roma are in at the time in terms of European football and financial compliance. We saw him starting a lot for France at the World Cup, and [he] was looked at very heavily by Manchester United, Chelsea. I think Liverpool like him as well as one of their potential future options.”
Liverpool.com says: A midfielder is clearly on Liverpool's radar, and considering the profiles available to Iraola, it's no surprise that is the case.
The Reds need a different option from the attack-minded players currently available, and Kone has shown plenty of quality in Serie A and for the French national team.
Whether he would be an affordable option is another question altogether, however, as it remains to be seen what Roma could demand for his services.
