The Milwaukee Bucks guard Tyler Herro and his baby mama, Katya Henry, have reportedly split up and are now in an ugly legal battle over child support payments and custody of their two kids.
According to TMZ, the couple had begun living separately long before they took their arguments to court.
“NBA star Tyler Herro and his baby mama, Katya Henry, stopped living together more than a year before filing dueling legal actions over custody, according to court docs obtained by TMZ Sports”.
“Katya filed legal docs that appear to show she moved out of Tyler’s 8-bedroom, 9-bathroom, 9,019-square-foot mansion in Miami in February 2025 … long before they started duking it out in court.”
“The docs note Katya and their two kids moved into a 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 2,844-square-foot pad just miles away from Tyler … after living with Tyler from September 2021 to January 2025,” their report states.
This ends speculation and rumors that Herro’s trade to the Milwaukee Bucks from the Miami Heat prompted their split. Moreover, this clarifies that Henry did not intend to stay in the same lifestyle Herro had provided in Miami.
Social media also unearthed old comments by Henry where she reportedly claimed that she loves Milwaukee and is not against moving there.
So while it is clear that Tyler Herro’s move did not have anything to do with the couple’s separation, it may be the reason why Henry has now petitioned the court for her to be granted custody of the children.
On August 20, both Herro and Henry filed petitions for custody and support of their two children; however, Tyler dropped his case less than a week later.
The two children of the ex-couple are a son born in 2023 and a daughter born in 2021. They both requested that a parenting plan be implemented for the children.
Henry’s previous court filings also suggest she is seeking the court’s intervention in the custody battle because of Tyler’s “historical conduct”; she wanted “safeguards and parameters” implemented for the “safety and wellbeing of the minor children.”
She also requested that the court determine the amount of child support, citing Tyler Herro’s enormous NBA salary and the difference in their incomes as factors to be taken into account.
Tyler Herro had reportedly been liking Katya’s Instagram posts prior to the petitions being filed, but he stopped following her on August 12. The case for the children’s custody and child support is still ongoing. We anticipate more updates soon.
