In a video posted on Jaylen Brown's social media, the new Philadelphia 76ers star is seen embracing a new sport ahead of his first season with the Sixers.
Brown shared a video on his Instagram, where he is seen training and later participating in a boxing match during his trip to Lagos, Nigeria.
The All-NBA guard also participated in a youth basketball camp in Nigeria sharing his NBA experience with young athletes.
Brown is set to start the season with his second team in the league after spending his entire career with the Boston Celtics until the blockbuster trade this offseason.
76ers were doubtful they could get Brown
The Jaylen Brown trade that sent Paul George to the Celtics was one of the biggest and most surprising moves in the NBA recently with only the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade rivaling that situation.
Most people were surprised by the move, as even the Sixers themselves didn't think they were at the top of the list of Brown suitors, as reported by Tony Jones of The Athletic.
The Celtics missed out on Giannis Antetokounmpo, but even this news hadn't raised Philadelphia's hopes.
"Even then, Philadelphia viewed itself as a long shot, according to league sources," Jones wrote.
"Conventional wisdom suggested Boston would rather trade him to a Western Conference team than trade an All-NBA-caliber player to a division rival."
In the end, the 76ers landed Brown, which eventually managed to help them lure LeBron James in free agency building arguably the best starting five in the NBA.
