Liverpool will look to build on a big European night when they host Fulham at Anfield this weekend in the Premier League.
Andoni Iraola’s side opened their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 comeback win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.

Marcos Llorente gave the visitors an early lead, latching onto a Julian Alvarez pass before lifting the ball over Alisson Becker in the 17th minute.
Liverpool responded before the break through Dominik Szoboszlai, who finished into the bottom corner in the 40th minute after collecting a flicked pass from Ronald Araujo.
Alexis Mac Allister then completed the turnaround early in the second half, striking from the edge of the box to seal all three points on the opening night of the club’s European campaign.
Attention now turns to Saturday’s league fixture against Fulham, though the build-up has been overshadowed by news involving Liverpool first-choice goalkeeper.
Alisson has been fined £8,000 by the Football Association, according to Sky Sports.
The Brazilian was charged after allegedly acting in an improper manner around the tunnel area following the final whistle of Liverpool’s draw with Nottingham Forest.
The incident stemmed from Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at Anfield on August 29.
Neco Williams went down under a challenge from Alisson in the 68th minute, and referee Sam Barrott pointed to the spot after a VAR check upheld the decision. Morgan Gibbs-White converted the resulting penalty to put Forest 2-1 ahead, before Victor Munoz equalised for Liverpool in the 82nd minute.
Alisson was filmed kicking the fourth official’s electronic board as he left the pitch after the game. That board had malfunctioned earlier, delaying Liverpool as they attempted to make a substitution in the build-up to Forest’s penalty.
An FA statement read: “Liverpool’s Alisson Becker has been fined £8,000 for misconduct at the Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest on 29 August.
It was alleged that the goalkeeper acted in an improper manner around the tunnel area after the final whistle.”
The statement added that Alisson accepted the charge and received the standard penalty.
The fine comes despite a subsequent ruling that cast fresh doubt on the penalty decision itself. The Premier League’s Key Match Incidents Panel decided this week, by a 3-2 vote, that Barrott was wrong to award the spot-kick.
The panel found that the contact between Alisson and Williams was an inevitable consequence of the goalkeeper’s momentum as he attempted to make a save, and judged it fell below the threshold required for a penalty.
The panel did, however, unanimously agree that VAR official Michael Oliver was correct not to send Barrott to the pitchside monitor, since the incident did not meet the threshold for a VAR intervention.
Liverpool now shift their focus to Fulham, who visit Anfield on Saturday.
The win over Atletico Madrid will have eased some pressure heading into the weekend, and Iraola’s side will be looking to carry that momentum into the Premier League fixture.
