**Liverpool secured a 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid at Anfield as they began their UEFA Champions League campaign on a positive note.**
The game was also Andoni Iraola’s first in the competition, which he was able to mark with a win after a comeback victory.
As has been the case so often in the past, Marcos Llorente was Atletico Madrid’s danger man as he scored his fifth goal against the Reds – all at Anfield – to break the deadlock.
After his famous brace against the Reds in 2020, the Spaniard named his dog Anfield, which irked a lot of fans in this part of the world.
And now, Steven Gerrard has taken the mickey out of Everton as he made it a habit of scoring against the Toffees.
Gerrard was on commentary on TNT Sports and it was brought up on air that Llorente named his dog Anfield due to his goalscoring exploits at the venue over the years, which led to a pretty amusing exchange as seen below.
