**Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has played down reports that Levi Colwill is carrying an injury.**

The 23-year-old was benched for the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal last weekend as he was not fully fit after picking up a problem in training in the build-up to the game.

Colwill did start the [**6-3 win over Leeds**](https://chelseanews.com/blog/chelsea-player-ratings-leeds-4/), but he was substituted with 15 minutes to go and went straight down the tunnel. Asked about the defender’s fitness following the final whistle, Alonso said:

“It is just from little things that he’s having, but we don’t expect that it’s an injury.”

With matches coming thick and fast, there won’t be much time for the England international to recover.

Chelsea host Hull at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon, and it is likely that Colwill will face a late fitness test before the fixture.
