Chelsea should restore almost their entire first-choice side when Hull City visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Xabi Alonso made nine changes for Wednesday’s extraordinary 6-3 Carabao Cup victory over Leeds United.
Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Pedro Neto and Reece James were all required from the bench as Chelsea overturned a two-goal deficit.
ReadChelsea’s match report from the Leeds comeback showed how quickly Alonso turned back towards his senior players.
Hull should therefore bring a much more familiar Chelsea XI.
The major uncertainty remains Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea predicted XI vs Hull City
Predicted Chelsea XI (3-4-2-1):
Martinez; Fofana, Lacroix, Colwill; Neto, James, Lavia, Hato; Palmer, Rogers; Joao Pedro.
That would mean Levi Colwill returning to Chelsea’s Premier League starting XI after proving his fitness against Leeds.
Alonso had left the defender on the bench at Arsenal because of a minor fitness issue.
Colwill subsequently returned against Leeds and captained the heavily rotated side.
Chelsea’s official team-news update confirmed before Wednesday’s cup tie that he was ready to play again.
Wesley Fofana should also return after being rested against Leeds, with Maxence Lacroix keeping his place.
Reece James and Jorrel Hato can then return to the wing-back roles used against Arsenal.
Further forward, the decisions look considerably easier.
Palmer and Rogers transformed Wednesday’s game after coming on at half-time, while Neto also scored during Chelsea’s remarkable comeback.
All three should start against Hull.
Joao Pedro was given a complete rest in midweek and can return at centre-forward.
Will Moises Caicedo play against Hull?
Caicedo remains the player to watch before Alonso’s next team selection.
ReadChelsea’s latest Chelsea injury update covered his absence against Leeds alongside Marco Palestra, Jordan Henderson and Emmanuel Emegha.
Alonso confirmed Caicedo had returned to training but insisted Chelsea would not take an unnecessary early risk.
That makes another start for Romeo Lavia alongside James the safer prediction until Chelsea provide a further update.
Caicedo would immediately become a serious starting candidate if Alonso confirms he is fully ready on Friday.
Chelsea’s last Premier League XI was missing both Caicedo and Colwill, with Josh Acheampong starting in defence against Arsenal.
ReadChelsea’s confirmed Chelsea lineup from the Emirates provides the clearest template for Saturday.
Colwill replacing Acheampong could therefore be the only change from that side.
Chelsea host newly-promoted Hull at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 12 September, with kick-off at 3pm BST. Chelsea’s official fixture list confirms the game before next weekend’s trip to Brentford.
