Reports indicate the [Boston Celtics](https://nesn.com/boston-celtics) could still make a move or two, depending on how things look over the next couple of months.
After the Celtics moved on from Jaylen Brown, it doesn't feel like anything is off the table at the moment.
Among the potential options that have been floated around for the Celtics over the past couple of months, one guy in particular, Domantas Sabonis, has been brought up more than others. Sabonis is an above-average offensive player, but won't offer Boston much on the defensive side of the basketball.
The only problem with landing Sabonis is that the Celtics would have to move a decent player, possibly even Paul George, to land him. Still, one writer believes he could be a trade candidate, and the Celtics could be interested.
“Heading into the summer, the Boston Celtics were reportedly aiming to improve their frontcourt. However, the only move they made was for fan-favorite New York Knicks backup center Mitchell Robinson. A trade that sent Neemias Queta, Paul George, and a draft pick to Sacramento would certainly give them a more balanced starting lineup with Robinson in it or not.
“The biggest issue is: would Sacramento actually take George back in the deal? It all matters for Perry’s long-term to rebuild the roster and get cap space. Or whether George is willing to opt out of his contract for 2027-28 for a multi-year deal at a lower annual rate,” Jason Burgos [wrote](https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/domantas-sabonis-wants-sacramento-5-183342334.html).
The idea of Sabonis isn't a bad one, and he'd probably fit in well with what Joe Mazzulla wants to do.
While Sabonis isn't exactly a great three-point shooter, only attempting 1.4 per game last year at 18.5%, he shot 41.7% from three-point range on 2.2 attempts the year before.
He's never going to be a knockdown three-point shooter, but he's a great passer, averaging 8.2 assists per game in the 2023-24 season. That passing ability would fit in well with what the Celtics want to do on that side of the ball.
