According to Caught Offside, Manchester City has compiled a detailed scouting report on Paris Saint-Germain defender Willian Pacho and recently watched him in the flesh in the Parisiens' 2-2 draw with Lille.
The report adds that Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid have also tracked the defender in the past, though there are currently no formal negotiations or offers on the table.
From a Manchester City perspective, the interest makes plenty of sense. The report states that Enzo Maresca’s side believe Pacho’s passing range and recovery speed would suit their possession-based approach - exactly the kind of ball-playing, left-sided defender the Italian likes to deploy.
At 24, the player also has plenty of time to grow and may not even have reached his peak level yet despite lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy in the last two seasons.

There is one major obstacle if City are to sign Pacho. Reuters have reported that that Pacho has signed a new contract at PSG running until 2031, extending his previous deal by a further two years and dramatically strengthening the French champions’ negotiating position.
With Pacho now tied down long-term, a regular starter under Luis Enrique - he has played every minute of PSG’s opening three Ligue 1 fixtures this season - and no contractual pressure on the club whatsoever, any January approach would likely require both an extraordinary offer and the player himself agitating for a move.
Realistically, this looks more like a monitoring exercise than a deal likely to materialise in the winter. Intriguingly, Manchester City could get a closer look at Pacho sooner than expected, with the two sides having been drawn together in the UEFA Champions League league phase - a meeting that may tell Maresca and his recruitment staff plenty about a defender they seem to admire.
