Liverpool news as Andoni Iraola provides Bradley Barcola and Cody Gakpo injury update

Liverpool are set to take on Fulham at Anfield tomorrow as they aim to build on their 2-0 Premier League win against Ipswich Town last weekend.

The Reds also swept aside Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League with a 2-1 win and are playing some good football under Andoni Iraola.

Against the La Liga side, Cody Gakpo missed out due to an adductor injury as Bradley Barcola made his full debut for the club in his place.

The French international showed glimpses of his potential but pulled up early in the second half and was substituted.

And now, ahead of the game against Alvaro Arbeloa’s side, Iraola has provided an injury update on the Liverpool duo.

Andoni Iraola provides injury update on Barcola and Gakpo

“We still need to train this afternoon, but Barcola had just cramps,” said the Spaniard in his pre-match press conference.

“We have to evaluate, but there’s no injury and he should be available if everything goes normally. Cody, we will see. Today we will try with him and let’s see if he’s ready for tomorrow or we have to wait until the next one.”

Barcola should be available tomorrow.

Gakpo didn’t train yesterday, he will try to train today, so unclear if he’s available.

Judging by his comments, both players are touch-and-go for this one as they face a race against time to be fit for tomorrow’s clash.
