Laura Blindkilde Brown says Manchester City is the best place to take her game to new heights.
The England midfielder has signed a new three-year deal at the Club until the summer of 2030 after becoming a regular in our midfield in the past 12 months.
Blindkilde Brown joined the Blues as an exciting 20-year-old from Aston Villa in January 2024 and has quickly become one of the WSL’s most exciting young midfield talents.
Despite establishing herself as a key fixture in our title-winning side, Laura insists there are still aspects of her game she wants to develop, and that City is perfect environment to make that happen.
Asked why she wanted to extend her stay at the Club, she said: “I think how much I’ve grown as a player since being here.
“I’ve developed so much and this is a team which I think gets the best out of me and just to continue to develop here.
“I still have a lot to work on, so, I think this is the best place for me.
“I came here at 20 years old, so I think the fact that I’ve been here so long just shows how much I like the Club and want to be here.”

Blindkilde Brown’s talent was always clear, but she had to work to earn her place as a regular starter in the City midfield, competing alongside the likes of Yui Hasegawa, Jill Roord, Jess Park and Laura Coombs in her first 18 months in Manchester.
The England midfielder has previously revealed she rejected the opportunity to go out on loan at the beginning of 2025/26 in order to fight for her place, and she went on to feature in all but three of our games last season.
Also shortlisted for the PFA WSL Young Player of the Year award, the 23-year-old has certainly repaid Andrée Jeglertz’s trust in her.
Signing a fresh contract with City, therefore, is a proud moment for Blindkilde Brown and a further example of her efforts being rewarded.
“When I came first to City it was all about just developing as much as I could as a player and I knew that I just wanted to improve as much as I could,” she reflects.
“It wasn’t necessarily about the game time, and then last year I got the opportunity to play a lot, which really helped me and made me grow as well.
“At the start of the season, I was a bit disappointed because I didn’t want to go out on loan and I wanted to prove myself here.
“So, I think to be able to do that was really nice and now signing a new deal and stay here is nice.”
