**Liverpool made four new signings during the summer transfer window under Andoni Iraola.**
And while Bradley Barcola’s arrival was their headline-grabbing move, a loan deal for Ronald Araujo certainly took a lot of the Anfield faithful by surprise.
The Uruguayan struggled at Barcelona last season and lost his spot in the team under Hansi Flick, so it looked like the Reds were making a signing just to add depth to their squad.
However, he has really shown his class for Liverpool as a right-back, with strong performances against Ipswich Town and Atletico Madrid.
And now, Iraola feels his English isn’t good enough at the moment, which is his biggest challenge.
Ronald is used to playing big games, playing in the Champions League, fighting for titles and playing for a big club,” said Iraola in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game vs Fulham.
“For him, the bigger challenge is the language; he doesn’t speak English. But he has good help inside the changing room. This change mentally has helped him a lot.
“He had a lot of years at Barca and needed this kind of change. It helps that, performance-wise, he has been playing very well.
