The first set of Champions League fixtures in the 2026/27 season are now in the books. With no end of goals and daramatic results, who made it into our team of the week?

Five Premier League teams featured this week, but only two players from England’s top division made it into our XI. Can you guess who they are?

GK: David Raya

That’s right – Arsenal’s David Raya was one of just two Premier League players in our XI this time around. In truth, there weren’t many goalkeepers to pick from, as only five of them kept clean sheets. Raya had a fair bit of work to do away at Napoli, making three saves en route to their 1-0 win.

RB: Konrad Laimer

Bayern Munich ran rampant over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday evening. Konrad Laimer wasn’t amongst their most impressive players on the day, to be honest, but still put forth some crucial defensive work down the right flank.

CB: Marc Bartra

Marc Bartra might not have kept a clean sheet against Lille, as Real Betis emerged as 3-2 victors, but his brace was more than enough for him to earn a spot in this XI.

CB: Lisandro Martinez

Manchester United overwhelmed and outmatched Azerbaijani outfit Sabah on Thursday evening – there were a few top performers to pick from, but Lisandro Martinez stands out. Not only did he help to maintain their clean sheet, he also scored the fourth and final goal of the game.
