‘Important’ – Fabrizio Romano provides big update on Liverpool player leaving

**In recent weeks, Alexis Mac Allister’s Liverpool future has emerged as a huge talking point.**

The Argentine midfielder addressed the media ahead of the Reds’ UEFA Champions League clash vs Atletico Madrid and spoke openly about his future.

Mac Allister claimed he was a bit sad Liverpool didn’t offer him a new deal, with just two years left on his current contract.

And earlier in the summer, there were reports that he could leave amid links with Manchester City and Real Madrid.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an elaborate update on his future.

“The reality is that things happened around Mac Allister over the summer transfer window,” said Romano via Caught Offside.

“Some intermediaries were proposing this idea to Manchester City – if you can’t get Enzo Fernandez, why don’t you go for Mac Allister?”

“But first of all Man City were insisting for Enzo and Mac Allister is in love with Liverpool.

“What Mac Allister says in public is the reality. He loves Liverpool as a club, as a fanbase, his teammates, so he’s very happy there. He didn’t want to leave.

“Then obviously the contract is going to be an important topic; Liverpool never offered a new contract to Mac Allister so far.

“So either they start acting before the summer transfer window 2027, or even with the two more years on his contract, Alexis Mac Allister could seriously consider an exit in summer 2027.

“But now, the focus is on Liverpool and the hope of the player is to stay and fight.”

Mac Allister clearly loves the club and has proved with his recent performances that his intention is to remain at Anfield. If he carries on in the same vein, Liverpool might just change their mind on offering him a new deal.
