The Western Conference is filled with star power heading into the 2026-27 NBA season. Several teams made major moves this offseason, trading or signing stars to pair with their current star. Some duos have already proven they can win together, while others will have to develop chemistry for the first time.
With so many talented players teaming up, here are the four best duos in the Western Conference heading into the season.

LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards

The Minnesota Timberwolves made one of the biggest moves of the offseason by trading for LaMelo Ball, former Rookie of the Year and All-Star, to a team already led by Anthony Edwards.
Edwards has established himself as one of the best young stars in the league today. Ball gives Minnesota a premier playmaker who can create opportunities for himself and his teammates. Both guards are among the most entertaining players in the league today, creating a duo that is must-see TV.
Both players are ball dominant, but their different styles of play could allow them to play off of each other. If they form team chemistry quickly, there’s no limit to what this team can do.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams
The Oklahoma City Thunder made it to the Western Conference Finals missing their second-best player, Jalen Williams. They’ll get him back this season, giving them Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams to carry their offense.
Unlike some of the other duos on this list, these two are established as one of the best dynamic duos in the league. OKC’s depth allows for these players to play within their strengths and take over when needed.
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray

Jokic and Murray are the oldest pairing on this list.
The two have spent years developing chemistry, and their connection is one of the biggest reasons Denver is always considered a contender. Jokic’s ability to score and create opportunities for his teammates makes him one of the best players in the league. Murray is his perfect counterpart, consistently showing that he can raise his level in the postseason.
Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves
The Lakers have an interesting pairing with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.
Doncic is one of the best offensive players in the league, while Reaves has developed into an impressive scorer. Reaves is a talented scorer off the ball, even though he’s a bit better with it. That means they could be a perfect 1-2 punch.
