Chelsea return to Premier League action this weekend, but Xabi Alonso will be forced to plan for the game without some key members of his squad. The Blues will face Hull City on Saturday afternoon in the top flight as they look to return to winning ways in the league.

Alonso guided Chelsea to a 6-3 victory over Leeds United in the Carabao Cup in midweek, but was on the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League a few days earlier.

The Chelsea boss will now be focused on preparing the squad to face Hull this weekend, but will have to do so knowing several players will not be available for selection.

Here, football.london takes a look at Chelsea’s current injury list and potential return dates:

Moises Caicedo

Moises Caicedo has missed Chelsea’s last two matches with an injury he picked up during a cameo appearance from the bench in the club's win over Brighton last month.

Alonso has confirmed that Caicedo will not be available to face Hull, but could make his return a week later.

“Not yet. We'll see for Brentford,” Alonso said on Friday. “We're not at a moment to take risks with him. Not yet, not yet.

Potential return date: Friday, September 18 - Brentford (A)

Marco Palestra

Marco Palestra is yet to feature for Chelsea this season following his move from Atalanta in the summer, with the right-back suffering from an injury he picked up in training.

Alonso has confirmed that Palestra will not be available to feature for the Blues against Hull this weekend.

Potential return date: Friday, September 18 - Brentford (A)

Jordan Henderson

Jordan Henderson is nearing the end of his recovery from an arm injury he suffered during post-match celebrations with England during the World Cup.

Alonso has confirmed, though, that he hopes the midfielder will be available later this month.

“Not tomorrow. We hope they can be for Brentford, but we'll see.”

Potential return date: Friday, September 18 - Brentford (A)

Emmanuel Emegha

Emmanuel Emegha suffered a hamstring injury during pre-season with Chelsea and is yet to make his first appearance for the club following his summer move from Strasbourg.

As is the case with Henderson, Alonso also hopes that Emegha will be available to face Brentford later this month.

“Not tomorrow. We hope they can be for Brentford, but we'll see.”

Potential return date: Friday, September 18 - Brentford (A)
