Gill Clark Gill Clark is the site manager of Barca Blaugranes and joined in 2017. She has worked in sports media as a writer and editor for the best part of two decades and has been in love with the beautiful game for as long as she can remember.
Barcelona captain Raphinha has been named La Liga’s Player of the Month for August after making a brilliant start to the season with Hansi Flick’s side.
The Brazilian started the season with two goals and an assist against Elche, netted again in the win over Athletic Club and then bagged a brace in a 5-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano.
Raphinha’s goals and impressive displays mean he’s scoops the first Player of the Month award for the new season, beating off competition from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Jude Bellingham, Alex Baena and Nahuel Tenaglia.
The 29-year-old has continued his form into September, scoring in a 5-0 win over Valencia in La Liga and grabbing another double in a crushing victory over Feyenoord in the Champions League.
Raphinha’s goalscoring exploits mean he’s just the second player to score six goals in the first four La Liga games of a new season in the 21st century after - yep you’ve guessed it - Lionel Messi.
Congratulations, Raphinha!
