Xabi Alonso has confirmed Romeo Lavia is ready to feature for Chelsea against Hull City on Saturday.
The Belgium international was left out of the squad for Wednesday’s 6-3 Carabao Cup victory over Leeds United.
However, his absence was not caused by a new injury.
Alonso’s latest Chelsea team-news update confirms Lavia was rested as part of his workload management and is available again for Hull.
That could prove especially important after Alonso also ruled Moises Caicedo out of Saturday’s game.

Romeo Lavia available for Hull clash
Lavia has already played a significant role during the opening weeks of Alonso’s Chelsea reign.
He started alongside Reece James in midfield during last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Arsenal, where ReadChelsea’s match report showed how Chelsea were forced to reshape the midfield without Caicedo.
The 22-year-old was then given the night off against Leeds as Alonso heavily rotated his side.
That decision now looks particularly useful.
With Caicedo unavailable, Lavia is one of Chelsea’s clearest central-midfield options for Saturday.
ReadChelsea’s predicted Chelsea XI against Hull already has Lavia starting alongside James, and Alonso’s update strengthens that call.
Lavia has featured regularly when fit this season and has already made an impact in the final third.
He scored during Chelsea’s 4-3 victory over Brighton, continuing an encouraging start to the campaign.
Chelsea will still be without Caicedo, Marco Palestra, Jordan Henderson and Emmanuel Emegha against Hull.
But Lavia’s availability gives Alonso some much-needed stability in the middle of the pitch.
The Blues host Hull at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with kick-off at 3pm BST.
