STEELERS HELPING WITH FOOD DRIVE
The Steelers’ first regular season game of the year is almost here. The Atlanta Falcons are the opponent, and they’re dealing with some serious issues. That includes being down to their third-string quarterback in Cooper Rush. The Steelers have a real opportunity to kick this season off with a big win at home. However, they’re doing other things to help Pittsburgh, too.
CBS Pittsburgh posted a video on YouTube sharing that the Steelers have teamed up with local Ford dealerships to collect food for those in need. It’s a great cause and a nice way for the team to support its community.
TOMLIN KEPT PITTSBURGH HOUSE
Mike Tomlin stepped down as the Steelers’ head coach this offseason. Now, he’s working as an analyst for NBC. It’s strange not to see Tomlin on the sideline to start this season, but he seems to be enjoying his new role. He even got to recently interview long-time rival John Harbaugh.
Tomlin still has ties to Pittsburgh, though. During his interview with Harbaugh, Tomlin shared that he couldn’t sell his house in Pittsburgh. He’s got a lot of memories tied to that place, and his daughter didn’t want him to get rid of it. While Tomlin isn’t coaching in Pittsburgh this year, he’s still got roots there.
BOSWELL HAS BABY
Chris Boswell has been one of the Steelers’ best players for years. He’s been with the team for over a decade, and he’s arguably the best kicker in their history. While the team underwent many changes this offseason, Boswell is a source of consistency.
Boswell has some exciting news before the season begins, too. The Steelers shared on Twitter that Boswell and his wife recently welcomed a new baby into their family. It’s great timing for them. Boswell might’ve been sweating a little bit with his wife due and the first game of the year so close. However, he doesn’t have to worry about missing something so important. Congratulations to their family.
