Alexander Isak can end 20-month wait for streak as Alisson eyes rare double

Alexander Isak has not scored in three consecutive Premier League games since a run of eight in January 2025 – but that could now end for Liverpool vs. Fulham.

Isak, with three, has now scored as many times in the league this season as he did in the whole of the last campaign.

Isak could score in a third league match in succession for the first time since January 2025, doing so in a sequence of eight.

Should Liverpool score exactly twice today it will be the first time in their history that they have done so in the opening four league fixtures of a campaign.

Not since February 2025 have they scored exactly two goals in four consecutive league games, then doing so in a sequence of six.

Last season’s Anfield win over Fulham saw the Reds keep only their second clean sheet in the last 11 home and away league encounters, while it saw them register the 1500th Anfield league victory in their history.

Not since January 2011 have Liverpool kept successive league clean sheets against Fulham.

Fulham have scored five times in their last three Anfield league visits, as many as they had scored in the 17 played prior to that.

By scoring in that match, Rio Ngumoha became the club’s youngest-ever scorer in the league at Anfield, breaking the record set by Raheem Sterling in October 2012.

It was his first goal at Anfield and he is yet to follow it up.

Former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa replaced Marco Silva as head coach in the summer.

Arbeloa made 98 appearances for the Reds with 66 of those coming in the Premier League.

He came on as a substitute for the club in the 2007 Champions League final defeat to AC Milan in Athens.

Saturday’s referee

Thomas Bramall has been appointed referee, in his fifth time in charge of a Liverpool fixture.

This will be his 3rd game of the season, having issued seven yellow cards in the previous two.
