Liverpool Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Bradley Barcola, Cody Gakpo & 5 Others

**Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Bradley Barcola did NOT pick up an injury against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.**

The Frenchman was forced to leave the pitch midway through the second half of the 2-1 win, but speaking after the match, [**Iraola**](https://walkon.com/blog/liverpool-news-andoni-iraola-mendieta/) said:

“I just asked him if it was cramp and he said yes, so that was a relief. It was just cramp. We have been rushing Bradley a little bit because he hadn’t played any minutes in pre-season.”

“We wanted him to play but said to just give us whatever he had. We have another game in three days.”

**Expected Return Date – Saturday 12th September vs Fulham (h)**

Cody Gakpo

----------

The winger missed the victory against Atletico Madrid with a minor adductor injury.

Iraola doesn’t think it is a serious issue, but it may still force him to miss the match versus Fulham this weekend.

**Expected Return Date – Tuesday 15th September vs Tottenham (h)**

Joe Gomez

---------

The defender is believed to be very close to returning to full training.

Gomez picked up a muscular problem in a pre-season friendly against Sunderland back in July.

**Expected Return Date – September**

Federico Chiesa

---------------

The forward has missed the start of the season due to a back injury.

Chiesa is set to step up his recovery next month, and he is targeting a return after the international break.

**Expected Return Date – October**

Giovanni Leoni

--------------

The Italian is in the final stages of his recovery from an ACL injury.

Iraola said earlier this month that Leoni is likely to be back in full training during the international break.

**Expected Return Date – October**

Conor Bradley

-------------

The fullback sustained his own ACL injury against Arsenal at the start of this year, and he was forced to undergo surgery.

Bradley won’t be available in the short term. ACLs tend to take between 9 and 12 months to fully recover from, so a comeback before the end of the year is anticipated.

**Expected Return Date – October to December**

Hugo Ekitike

------------

The striker suffered an Achilles tendon injury against Paris Saint-Germain at the back end of last season.

Ekitike is not expected to be back fit until the first half of next year.

**Expected Return Date – 2027**
