Four free-agent strikers Everton can still consider as options dwindle

[**Everton**](https://readeverton.com/) **remain short of options up front, and the pool of free-agent strikers available to David Moyes is already beginning to shrink.**

Jamie Vardy was linked with the Toffees after Deadline Day but has since joined Burnley, while Jordan Ayew is now at Sheffield United. So what (or who) is left if Everton do decide they need another No.9?

Icardi remains one of the biggest names on the market after leaving Galatasaray. The 33-year-old has been linked with Everton and is reportedly open to the move, although sources at the club have since played down suggestions that they are looking to sign him.

Another familiar name. Everton have been offered the chance to sign Martial, but reports suggest his wage demands have been an issue and club sources have also played down the prospect of a deal. The former Manchester United forward is 30 and has also attracted interest elsewhere in Europe.

Ings remains available after leaving Sheffield United, although Hibernian have shown interest in the 34-year-old. There is no suggestion Everton are pursuing him, but his Premier League experience inevitably puts him among the names worth considering if Moyes wants experienced cover for Thierno Barry.

Joselu is another experienced striker who entered September without a club after leaving Al-Gharafa. Eintracht Frankfurt have reportedly held talks over signing the 36-year-old, so whether he remains an option may depend on developments elsewhere. Again, there is no suggestion Everton have approached him.

Moyes may ultimately decide to wait until January. But with Vardy and Ayew already off the market, the list isn’t getting any longer.
