Last Word on Football brings you the latest team news and predicted lineups ahead of Tottenham vs Everton in the Premier League. Spurs are still looking for their first win and goal of the league season, while the Toffees are unbeaten with five points from their first three games.
Everton kicked off the season with a win over Crystal Palace before drawing at AFC Bournemouth and playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester United last week, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles scoring a stoppage-time equaliser on his debut. David Moyes’ side have also progressed in the EFL Cup, defeating Preston North End 4-0.
Tottenham finally picked up their first league point with a 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest last weekend after back-to-back defeats against Brentford and Newcastle United. Those results came either side of a 5-1 triumph over Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup, but Roberto De Zerbi will be hoping to lead Spurs to their first three points of the 2026/27 campaign.

The main talking point this week is that summer signing Mykhailo Mudryk has picked up an ankle injury that rules him out until after the international break. The Ukrainian winger suffered the injury in training and will miss Tottenham’s upcoming fixtures.
De Zerbi confirmed James Maddison is available again after recovering from the shoulder injury he picked up at Brentford, while Mohammed Kudus is “close” to being able to start after the Ghanaian came off the bench in Spurs’ last two outings.
The Italian also revealed that Dejan Kulusevski has suffered a small setback in his recovery from a long-term knee injury and has not trained with the group this week.
Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons remain out as they recover from ACL injuries, while Richarlison is unavailable after being left out of Tottenham’s Premier League squad.
De Zerbi has plenty of decisions to make across the pitch following Spurs’ poor start to the season, but after an improved performance against Forest, a similar lineup would not be a surprise.

The Toffees have few injury concerns ahead of the trip to north London, although Moyes confirmed midfielder Christian Norgaard remains out until after the international break. The Everton boss also remarked that he believes Jack Grealish is ready to start after rejoining the club on loan from Manchester City.
Everton have a relatively small squad this season, particularly lacking in forward options, after missing out on reported targets such as Joshua Zirkzee and Folarin Balogun on deadline day, leaving Thierno Barry as the sole senior striker.
The encounter could also see the return of Brennan Johnson to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the Welsh international having departed Spurs for Crystal Palace in January before moving to Merseyside in the summer.
Moyes has named a similar lineup for all three league games so far, but with Grealish now available to start, he appears the most likely change from the side that drew with Manchester United last time out.

If Everton take the lead, it could become a difficult afternoon for De Zerbi and his side, although Spurs should have just enough to edge this one if their big-money summer signings perform to their potential.
