Green Bay Packers make Tucker Kraft one of the highest-paid tight ends in NFL history with 4-year contract extension 1
The Green Bay Packers and their star tight end Tucker Kraft had been engaged in contract extension talks for a long time. Despite missing half of 2025 with a torn ACL, Green Bay was certain that they wanted to lock Kraft up for the long term. At the time of his injury, he led the Packers with 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns.
Indeed, if he had not gotten hurt, Kraft likely would have been, at the very least, a Pro Bowl selection and probably an All-Pro. As it was, though, his loss was just one of many disappointments Green Bay faced last season.
On a positive note, though, Kraft was activated off the PUP list early in training camp and is going to play on Sunday when the Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings.
And he will do so as one of the highest-paid tight ends NFL history.

On Saturday morning, a day before the Packers and Vikings face off in Week One of the 2026 NFL season, it was reported that Kraft and Green Bay are in agreement on a four-year $75 million contract extension:

Kraft’s $19.66 million annual salary over the first three years of the contract make him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history on a per-year basis. George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers makes an average of $19.1 million.
What is more, Kraft’s $18.75 million annual salary over the life of the four-year contract is the third-highest in league history. Only Kittle and Trey McBride ($19.0 million) of the Arizona Cardinals have a higher annual number.
Undoubtedly, all three of the aforementioned tight ends will see their rankings fall in 2027 when Brock Bowers becomes eligible for an extension with the Las Vegas Raiders. For now, though, the Packers and their tight end are thrilled to have this business done before the start of this regular season.
