The Green Bay Packers are taking care of some important business ahead of the 2026 NFL season. Green Bay is agreeing to a contract extension with Tucker Kraft, per ESPN. The base value of the deal is $75 million.
“Green Bay TE Tucker Kraft and the Packers reached agreement today on a four-year, $75 million extension worth up to $92 million that includes a $26.5 million signing bonus,” Adam Schefter posted to X, formerly Twitter.
Kraft has been an important part of the Packers offense when healthy. He had a career-best 707 receiving yards during the 2024 season. That year he caught seven touchdown passes.
In 2025, the Packers tight end finished his campaign with 489 receiving yards. He also posted six touchdown catches. Green Bay would go on to the NFL Playoffs, where they lost a close game to the Chicago Bears.
It has been reported that the Packers were involved for awhile this summer in contract extension talks with Kraft. While some reporting suggested the two sides wouldn't get to work out a deal, Saturday's announcement ended the speculation.
The tight end is recovering from a bad injury.
“Kraft tore his ACL in early November of last year and missed the rest of the season. He's healthy now and expected to be full-go for Week 1 on Sunday in Minneapolis,” USA Today reported.
The Packers tight end has 1,551 career receiving yards and 15 touchdown catches. He has spent his entire NFL career in Green Bay. The franchise clearly hopes that Kraft is around for a long time.
The Packers play the Minnesota Vikings to open their 2026 season on Sunday. Green Bay finished the 2025 season with nine victories.
