Andoni Iraola's Liverpool were frustrated at home to Fulham, with the Reds drawing a fourth consecutive Premier League match at Anfield for the first time in their history.
After the come-from-behind victory against Atletico Madrid in mid-week, confidence was high ahead of the weekend clash with early strugglers Fulham. However, it was the uninspiring hosts who struggled in the first half, with Liverpool struggling to make their impact on the match. Florian Wirtz looked unconvincing with a couple of tame efforts, while Alexander Isak trickled one wide.
Iraola didn't wait long to make the changes, with subs at half-time and on the hour-mark. The hosts' intensity certainly increased, but there wasn't a change in fortunes for the six-time European champions.
Here, Express Sport hand out player ratings from Liverpool's Saturday afternoon meeting with Fulham...
Was never under a constant barrage of pressure, but the shot-stopper was forced into a couple of saves on occasion. Did particularly well to palm a curling Josh King strike over the bar.
Never really looked comfortable. Fulham's left-hand side caused problems all afternoon, and the on-loan defender was caught sleeping for a chance that Antonee Robinson really ought to have scored from in the first half.
A run-of-the-mill performance from the Dutchman. Didn't have much defending to do, but didn't look suspect when called upon.
Has had a really impressive start to the season. The youngster had big shoes to fill following Ibrahima Konate's departure, but he's started off brightly. Was alive to danger, and wasn't afraid to step into midfield with the ball at his feet.
Was starting his first Premier League match in well over a year, and the Greek was way off it. No surprises that Iraola hooked him at half-time.
Has never really hit the heights of the 2024/25 season, and was given the runaround a little bit in this match. Came off after an hour.
Probably the most industrious of the Liverpool midfielders who started the match. Plenty of energy at both ends of the pitch. Put a wicked cross in for Isak, who really ought to have scored with a late header.
Looked lively in the first half, and forced Bernd Leno into a sharp save. But faded as the match went on and was hooked after an hour.
Has admittedly looked better at times this season, but the bar was on the floor compared to his debut campaign.
Liverpool fans were warned about his inconsistent end product, and they'll be hoping it's just early-season nerves. While he does get into promising positions, the Frenchman so often lacks the decisiveness in front of goal. Has an awful lot of work to do.
Was like going back in time to last season. After some bright moments so far, the Swede looked leggy and was far too easy to defend against. Should've done better with a header in added time, but his effort was dragged wide of the post.
Was much better than team-mate Kostas Tsimikas, but it wasn't perfect from a defensive point of view.
After his winner in mid-week, the Argentine might've felt hard done by for not being in the starting XI. Liverpool looked so much better when he came off the bench.
Has been Liverpool's most effective attacker so far this season, but started on the bench due to a minor injury problem.
Added some much-needed width down the right-hand flank, and put a lovely cross into the box for what ought to have been a last-minute winner.
Should've been the match-winner. Arrived to a Jeremie Frimpong cross at the perfect time, but wasn't able to control his shot, with the teenager sending the effort flying into the Kop.
