‘Busy as Hell’: Donald Trump’s Special Appearance for Jerry Jones Sparks Cowboys ‘Curse’ Panic 1
President Donald Trump has developed a reputation among sports fans for showing up around teams that subsequently lose. There are several prominent examples of teams dropping critical games or being eliminated shortly after Trump attended their events or weighed in publicly.
That “Trump curse” is back in the spotlight, and this time, Dallas Nation is saying their season is over. The panic broke out after Trump was recently seen signing multiple Dallas Cowboys helmets just before the new NFL season kicks off.

The clip, posted with the caption “Trump signing Dallas Cowboys helmets today,” shows Trump seated at a table lined with silver Cowboys helmets and other memorabilia, including a football in a display case. He was signing the helmets with a marker in a private, backstage setting ahead of his appearance at the National Medal of Honor Museum event with team owner Jerry Jones.

While Jones does not appear in the clip itself, Trump addressed the Cowboys owner during his speech at the event. Joking about his hectic schedule, the president told the crowd, “I wasn’t supposed to be doing this today, Jerry, because I am busy as hell. But when they called, I said, ‘I gotta just forget about all of this.”
During his speech, Trump also showed respect for Jones and his family, adding, “Jerry Jones has been somebody that I’ve known so long, and I just have such great respect for him. And Gene is an incredible woman, respected by everybody. That’s a family — this is a family that’s very, very special. So, it’s an honor for me to be here with you.”
However, his praise for Jones and signing Cowboys helmets was enough for superstitious fans to declare the season over before the first snap.
Fans in panic after Donald Trump signs helmets
Recalling the historically poor luck of teams Trump has publicly backed, Dallas Nation immediately reacted on X with sheer dread.
One fan wrote, “Well there goes our f-—ing season. Ggs.”
Another added, “Welp, season cooked.”
The third one noted, “Please be true! The curse is real!!! Cowboys will su-k again!”
A fourth penned, “Just doomed the Cowboys organization! @dallascowboys.”
The fifth viewer remarked, “HAHAHAHA YOUR SEASON IS OVER AGAIN.”
Another joked, “Cowboys cursed just for extended another 30 years after this.”
The “curse” drew significant attention this year after the New York Knicks lost Game 3 of the NBA Finals with Trump in the building, snapping a 13-game winning streak. It gained traction again after the USMNT was eliminated from the World Cup following Trump’s public push to overturn a red card.
Trump-attended events involving the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX and the Miami Hurricanes at the College Football Playoff National Championship also ended in losses for the teams he backed. So, the majority of the fanbase is treating his signing as one more bad omen heading into Sunday.
