Liverpool have been told how much they may have to pay if they want to sign Bournemouth star Alex Scott. The Reds were credited with an interest in signing Scott during the summer transfer window, but were not the only club to be mentioned as a potential destination.
Chelsea and Manchester United were both linked with moves for Scott, who was part of a pre-World Cup training camp with England during the summer.
In the end, Scott remained at Bournemouth, and Liverpool chose not to go into the market for any midfield reinforcements, despite the departure of Curtis Jones to Inter Milan.
The Athletic reporter David Ornstein has provided an update on Scott’s future, including the potential price tag that he would expect Bournemouth to demand for the 23-year-old in the future.
It has been reported that the Cherries would likely demand at least £100million to part ways with Scott next summer, although no specific fee has been mentioned for what Liverpool and other interested clubs may need to pay.
The report also claims that Bournemouth will have the same demand for Rayan and Eli Junior Kroupi, who were all linked with moves away from the Vitality Stadium in the summer. Rayan is reported to have a £130million release clause, but it will not come into effect in the summer of 2027.
Former Liverpool star Vladimir Smicer has previously explained why Andoni Iraola could give the Reds a boost in their hopes of signing Scott. Iraola managed the Cherries midfielder during his time in charge on the south coast.
“I think you can expect Andoni Iraola would like to take Alex Scott because he knows what he can do,” Smicer said, via Casinostugan.

“To be honest, in midfield we need a bit more spark with people who are fighting but are clever going forward, turning quickly with the ball and finding strikers.
“Of course, we expect a lot from (Florian) Wirtz to do this. But Andoni Iraola knows Alex Scott. If the price is right and he sees the possibility to strengthen the team, why not?”
He added: “In midfield you need competition, and Scott can be a great asset because he's only twenty-two and is playing regularly for the England youth teams.
“He's a good prospect and a local guy from the UK. These things are important.
"I don't know if he would love to play for Liverpool, but not many players would turn them down.
“He's got a good chance now because Andoni Iraola is the new manager. If he likes him, I think we can find the money.”
