Alisson Becker, the Liverpool goalkeeper, admitted that his side performed well below par against Fulham in the Premier League, with Andoni Iraola's men dropping points in a third game out of four to start the new campaign.
After draws with Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, the Reds were only able to tie with Fulham at Anfield, leading to a few moans and groans from the stands. Going forward, Iraola has work to do with his new-look forward line, but at the back, there were some problems too.
"It’s important to be always ready to help the team — but it was a poor performance, in some moments even from myself, but from the team," Alisson said.

"Collectively, we didn’t play well. Many things we tried to do, we couldn’t do it well.
"We couldn’t press them well. In the first half, we spent too much energy trying to press them in a good way, but we couldn’t.
"Obviously, it’s a big challenge to play Wednesday night and Saturday evening, and you have another game on Tuesday.

"But we need to get the right mentality to do that and I think it wasn’t the case today. We have to improve for the next one."
Liverpool hosts Tottenham in the Carabao Cup in three days, with Iraola expected to make changes to his starting team. It then has Bournemouth before the September international break.
"When you draw, especially at home, you can't be happy," Iraola said.
"Today we lacked a bit of freshness and we did not do enough offensively to make the difference.

"We have been good enough to keep the clean sheet. It was slightly better in the second half. In the first half we started the game slow, we lacked energy and it was not enough, we have to be offensively better.
Liverpool.com says: It was a blow-par day all-round for the Reds, from back to front. Alisson was fortunate not to concede a penalty in the first half, and the team in front of his didn't perform.
Tiredness looked to be a factor, but that was a talking point even before the season began. Having decided to go with a quality over quantity approach to squad building, it can't be an excuse.
