New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is questionable to play on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys due to a knee injury. Nabers did have multiple practice appearances this past week which is encouraging, but the Giants' latest roster move leaves the door open for the receiver to miss Week 1.
Art Stapleton of USA Today reports that the Giants are signing receiver Dalen Cambre to the 53-man roster. Dan Duggan of The Athletic explained how the move may impact Nabers' outlook for the game.
“Said I didn’t think a second WR promoted from the PS would bode well for Nabers. Now, it could wind up just being precautionary, but this is at least a step to prepare for not having Nabers tomorrow night,” Duggan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Of course, fantasy football managers are paying close attention to this situation. The Giants-Cowboys game is scheduled for Sunday night, so managers won't have many options to pivot to if Nabers ends up being ruled out. At the moment, though, the receiver is still questionable, meaning there is a chance he will play.
The Giants will continue to provide updates on Malik Nabers' injury status as they are made available. New York would love to have him available for the game, but the Giants also do not want to risk further injury.
As for the game itself, kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 PM ET in New York. The Giants will look to begin the new season strong by defeating a talented Cowboys team.
