Liverpool defender Jeremy Jacquet was allegedly "abused by Liverpool fans" following Saturday's 0-0 draw with Fulham as he attempted to make his way home from Anfield after the game.
Footage that appeared online approximately one hour after the final whistle in Merseyside appeared to show Jacquet, dressed in his Liverpool tracksuit, becoming involved in an altercation with a young group of supporters after getting out of his car at a set of traffic lights.
The French defender was one of the few shining lights in an otherwise lackluster Liverpool performance against Fulham earlier in the day, having put in a solid shift to help the Reds earn a second consecutive clean sheet in the league in what was his fifth start of the campaign.
However, that didn't appear to stop Jacquet, 21, from falling victim to alleged abuse from a pocket of Liverpool supporters following the game, with viral footage showing him stepping out of his car to engage with fans after stopping at a green light.
In the 19-second clip posted by journalist Keefe Irwin on X, which had the accompanying caption, "Jeremy Jacquet receives abuse from Liverpool fans for not stopping for children", Jacquet can be seen standing outside his vehicle at the front of a set of traffic lights.
Dressed in his training gear, the former Rennes center-back is facing toward a group of young supporters on the side of the road, gesturing to them while uttering something that is inaudible.

Several fans attempt to diffuse the situation by approaching Jacquet and ushering him back in his car, as a voice off-camera can be heard shouting, "Come on", in his direction.
Toward the end of the clip, several young kids can be seen holding Liverpool shirts and scarves, prompting some fans online to suggest they had been pestering the France U21 international to sign their merchandise.
Jacquet eventually shuts his car door and turns his engine back on as the traffic lights change from red to amber, before the clip ends. Many Reds supporters were quick to stick up for him and criticize the fans who caused him issues.
"If you're abusing players for not stopping, you're the type of people they shouldn't be stopping for," one person wrote in the comments section of the post on X.
"Why would he stop he's f---ing driving home you t--- what's he meant to do hold up the traffic," fumed another, while a third person said: "How embarrassing!! Leave him alone ffs."
A fourth user commented: "He doesn't owe anyone anything and stopping at traffic lights on a busy main road is dangerous.
"Anyone shouting abuse doesn't f---ing deserve anything from him anyway."
One person who claims to have been at the scene added: "I was there. Surrounded his car and pressured him for no reason. Jacquet did nothing wrong."
