The Pittsburgh Steelers are elevating defensive back Doneiko Slaughter to the active roster, [the team announced on Saturday](https://x.com/steelers/status/2098863715323887839?s=20). Slaughter had a tremendous training camp and preseason with Pittsburgh and was one of the final cuts before being placed on the practice squad.
The only player to appear on the Steelers’ injury report this week has been cornerback Joey Porter Jr, who continues to work his way back after missing all of training camp and preseason play. Porter was placed on the PUP list at the start of camp due to what the team said was a back injury, but the speculation is that it was a hold-in under the guise of an injury.
The Steelers will begin their season at 1:00 EST against the Atlanta Falcons.
