The Jacksonville Jaguars got a major update regarding receiver Parker Washington's contract situation before they begin the 2026 season.
Washington is starting the fourth season of his NFL career with the Jaguars. Jacksonville selected his services in the sixth round of the 2023 draft, giving him an active role in the receiving corps.
Washington put together his best campaign to date last year, looking to get a new contract before next season begins. However, NFL insider Jordan Schultz revealed that the receiver will take a different approach with contract negotiations.
“Contract talks with the #Jaguars and star WR Parker Washington have come to a halt. Washington, the former 6th-round pick, plans to bet on himself by entering the season without a new deal after months of negotiating,” Schultz wrote.

Parker Washington looks to test himself as a standout receiver. Enjoying his production with the Jaguars last year, he hopes to build on that success going into 2026 within an active offense.

Washington's 2025 season was great as he helped Jacksonville accomplish a winning campaign and a playoff appearance. He played in 16 games that featured seven starts, making 58 catches for 847 yards and five touchdowns. He was also active in special teams, racking up 25 punt returns for 341 yards and two touchdowns.
Jacksonville enters Year 2 of the Liam Coen era. They enjoyed an incredible year under his leadership, hoping to elevate their status to serious playoff contention upon exceeding expectations in 2025.
The team is looking to improve upon their 13–4 record from the previous season. They also intend to win divisional titles and make the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1998 and 1999.
The Jaguars' regular season will get underway this weekend at home. They host the Cleveland Browns as kickoff commences on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
