Morgan State University's marching band is getting a huge platform on the first NFL Sunday of the season, per a report by the Baltimore Banner. In a statement released Friday, the New York Giants said Morgan State will take part in a commemorative performance honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11. The tribute will occur when the Giants host the Cowboys during Sunday Night Football.
“Halftime will feature a first-of-its-kind Hamilton performance and will bring the acclaimed Broadway musical to the NFL for the first time with a special arrangement by Alex Lacamoire and Don P. Roberts featuring a marching band collaboration with Morgan State University's Magnificent Marching Machine, Penn State's Blue Band and soloist Jaheim Lee. The performance will feature a medley of Hamilton hits performed by Nicholas Christopher as Aaron Burr with Mandy Gonzalez, Morgan Anita Wood, and Candace Quarrels as the Schuyler Sisters,” the statement read in part.
