Manchester United and Manchester City will both have players on the sidelines when they meet in the Premier League this weekend. United will host City at Old Trafford in the latest instalment of the Manchester derby, where both clubs will be determined to secure all three points.
United were forced to settle for a point in their last Premier League match against Everton last weekend, while City emerged victorious with a win over Coventry.
Both United and City claimed wins in the Champions League in midweek, and will now be looking to get wins of their own when they meet in the Premier League
However, Michael Carrick will have to prepare to face City without several key players at his disposal, while there are still question marks over others.
Amad Diallo remains unavailable for United, with the Ivory Coast international yet to resume training following an injury he picked up last month.
There will also be no Carlos Baleba, who is yet to make his debut for United after picking up an ankle injury during the summer before his transfer from Brighton.
Matthijs de Ligt is also not expected to feature for United, but the Netherlands international is making progress on his recovery from a back injury, which has kept him on the sidelines since November last year.
Manuel Ugarte remains a long-term absentee for United with a knee injury, while Tom Heaton suffered a hamstring injury earlier in the season, and there is no timeframe on a return.
United will hope, though, that Luke Shaw will be able to feature against City on Sunday, with the left-back missing the win over Sabah in the Champions League in midweek.

“We'll have to see,” Carrick said, when asked if Shaw would be available for Sunday’s showdown at Old Trafford. “We just kind of looked after him a little bit going into tonight.
“He wasn't quite ready for it 100%, so we didn't risk it. We'll see how he is over the next couple of days or so.”
For City, they are guaranteed to be without Jeremy Doku, who is still recovering from a calf injury he suffered last month.
“Jeremy, I think he needs some more days,” Maresca told reporters on Friday.
City are expected to have Nico O’Reilly available, though, with Maresca confirming that the left-back has recovered from a back injury that saw him miss their Champions League win over Porto in midweek.
