After a strong showing in the Champions League and a goal off the bench against Everton, there’s a good chance that Benjamin Sesko starts the Manchester derby. Having been substituted after 64 minutes, it suggested to fans that we might see him lead the line for Michael Carrick’s men on Sunday.
Luke Shaw missed the Champions League fixture, with Patrick Dorgu filling in at left back. Speaking on the left back situation, the manager said, “We’ll have to see. We looked after him a little bit going into tonight. He wasn’t quite ready for it, 100 per cent, so we didn’t risk it. But we’ll see how he is over the next couple of days or so.”
The talismanic Bruno Fernandes appeared to pick up a knock; however, he was forced to play the full 90 minutes due to Carrick making all five subs. He was also seen limping as he left Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford was an unused substitute against Sabah. He felt some discomfort against Everton, and Carrick discussed the matter, saying: “It was nice to keep Marcus fresh and ready for the weekend”.
Matthijs de Ligt, Amad Diallo and Carlos Baleba remain out.

Jeremy Doku and Nico O’Reilly both missed City’s trip to Portugal in the week, although Enzo Maresca gave fans a boost ahead of the derby.
Speaking to the press ahead of his first Manchester derby, he said that O’Reilly is “100 per cent available” and therefore is likely to play a part at Old Trafford.
As for Doku, he won’t play a part on Sunday, with the Man City boss stating that he “needs more days” before he’s made available.
