3. The Szoboszlai-at-DM issue needs addressing
Dominik Szoboszlai has shown his versatility by operating in a deeper midfield role, but questions remain over whether it is the best solution for Liverpool.
The position requires someone capable of protecting the defence while also controlling the midfield.
Wataru Endo or Trey Nyoni could provide alternative options, and Iraola may need to consider whether Szoboszlai is better utilised further forward.
4. Jacquet looks colossal
One of the biggest positives was the performance of new defender Jérémy Jacquet.
The centre-back looked composed, physical and confident, showing qualities that suggest Liverpool could have a very exciting player on their hands.
His display was one of the standout positives from an otherwise frustrating afternoon.
5. Liverpool are lucky Alisson stayed
Perhaps the biggest reminder from the game was just how fortunate Liverpool are to still have Alisson Becker between the posts.
The Brazilian remains one of the finest goalkeepers in world football and his importance to the team cannot be understated.
Liverpool faced a summer of uncertainty over his future, but retaining his services could prove to be one of the most important pieces of business they completed.
The draw against Fulham will undoubtedly feel like two points dropped, but it has also highlighted several areas Iraola must address as Liverpool look to build momentum.
