Jack Grealish reportedly has his sights set on staying at Everton beyond the end of his second loan spell at the Hill Dickinson.
Football Insider reported on Sunday that the 31-year-old wants to make his move to Everton permanent next summer. The outlet, citing unnamed sources, claims Grealish has his sights firmly set on remaining on Merseyside.
Grealish wants Everton stay – report
It would hardly come as a huge surprise given how keen Grealish was to return. His first season at Everton was cut short by a foot injury, but he pushed for another move to the Hill Dickinson when his future was being decided during the summer.
That eventually resulted in a second season-long loan from Manchester City on Deadline Day. Grealish’s City contract runs until June 2027, so a permanent move would still require an agreement between the clubs unless that situation changes before next summer.
David Moyes has been more cautious when discussing what happens beyond this season. Asked recently about the prospect of Grealish staying permanently, the Everton manager said there had been “no final decision”. And there really isn’t any need for one yet.
Grealish has only recently returned after a long spell without competitive football and Everton have almost an entire season to see how he performs and, importantly, how his body holds up.
For now, Football Insider’s report suggests Grealish already knows what he would like to happen. Whether Everton eventually agree is another matter, but here’s hoping.
