Yesterday was one of Liverpool’s poorest performances in a long time.
After defeating Atletico Madrid at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League, many were expecting another victory to follow when Fulham visited The Reds in the English Premier League.

Instead, a frustrating 0-0 draw took place that provided more questions than answers.
It left many feeling that it was a case of one step forward and then one step back.
In Andoni Iraola’s debut season as Liverpool head coach, that has been emblematic of the side in the opening weeks of this season.
Before the first international break of the season, Liverpool face Tottenham Hotspur next in the League Cup, a club that have had an even poorer start to the campaign than Liverpool, before they visit Bournemouth away in the league.

It’s not always easy for players to understand a new managers instructions nor is it necessarily easy for a manager to work with new players.
With time, hopefully that will course correct.
While it wasn’t a great day at the office for the senior side, the youth team had a much better afternoon out and one particular debutant marked the occasion with a goal.
Liverpool under-18s played Burnley at the Kirkby Academy and came out victorious with a score of 4-2.
Within minutes of making his debut, centre-back Joseph Dixon gave The Reds the lead.
For those thinking that the name sounds familiar, it’s because Dixon has been at Liverpool for quite a while now.
It’s just that this game was his debut for the under-18 side.
Joseph Dixon signed his first professional contract this summer with Liverpool and marked his first appearance as an essentially memorable one.
Charlie Huth made it 2-0 within 20 minutes, before Burnley’s Blayz Borgesson and Warren Taylor brought it back to 2-2 before half time.
Second half goals from AJ Yeguo and Erik Farkas meant that the final score finished 4-2 and secured the three points for the young Reds side.
If Liverpool’s senior side can produce similar results in the next two games, the fans will be happy.
For now, it’s a memorable moment in the young career of Joseph Dixon and he’ll be hoping to be just as impactful in more games in the future.
