Derrick Barnes is already winning Week 1.

The Detroit Lions linebacker had an adorable father-son moment that featured matching Spider-Man costumes. In the video, Barnes and his son Trey arrived at Ford Field ahead of Sunday's season opener against the New Orleans Saints in matching suits as they crouched down on the floor and hit Spider-Man's signature pose.

Fans couldn't get enough of the moment, with one X user praising Barnes' parenting ability saying, “The real accomplishment was convincing your kid to wear the same thing twice.”

Another fan chimed in about the Lions star's secret career, “Barnes is out here locking down ball carriers on Sundays and then moonlighting as Peter Parker with his mini-me.”

A fan gave Barnes his flowers writing, “That’s how you do Sunday. Kid gets the suit, dad matches it, football second.”

Barnes has two children with his wife Kylie. Their son Trey was born in 2024 and they welcomed their daughter Blake Ivy Barnes in March 2026. Back in April, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary which Barnes shared on Instagram with a photo of Kylie as well as a photo of them with their son.

“Happy 3 year anniversary my love. No man could ask for a better mother or wife. I love you,” Barnes captioned the photo.

Barnes has been with the Lions since 2021 and is currently under a three-year extension that the linebacker signed in March 2025. Following his 2024 knee injury, he was able to stay healthy throughout last season and played all 17 games.

Ahead of the 2026 season, Barnes is looking forward to expanding his role on the Lions.
