Bukayo Saka spoke about a 2-0 win for Arsenal against Sunderland.

Raya save and a late Saka penalty

The Black Cats could have taken a second-half lead at the Stadium of Light had Enzo Le Fee fired a penalty into the back of the net. But justice was served as David Raya repelled the effort from twelve yards, and Bruno Guimaraes got the first goal of the game only 121 seconds after that incident.

The defence held on until stoppage time, when Saka earned a penalty following a foul from Reinildo Mandava. Sunderland went down to ten men, and Saka slotted his strike to double the advantage.

‘We’re going to keep going as a squad’

A 100% winning record meant that the reigning champions finished Saturday at the top of the Premier League table.

To achieve this result off the back of a trip to Napoli and the battle with Chelsea speaks highly of the strength of the squad, and Saka was proud of his side’s commitment.

“This is a really, really big win. I enjoyed it a lot - it was tough, but a big moment with David, big moment with Bruno that really changed the game and helped us win. The goal was amazing.

“The way it went in, I enjoyed it, the celebrations, everything. It was a massive moment, a great moment for him, and he deserves it - he’s a top guy.

“Big contributions - not just from the starting players, but the players coming off the bench. And Bruno showed that, and all the others that came on as well. We’re going to keep going as a squad and that’s going to give us a lot of strength for the season.

A massive week of travelling

“It’s been a massive week for us, there has been a lot of travelling, people don’t understand behind the scenes how it’s been.

“I’m really happy with how we’ve managed this and to get three wins, three tough, tough games - it’s amazing for us, so credit to the team, the staff, all of us. We need to keep going - it doesn’t stop.”
