Julius Randle promises the Nets will exceed all expectations in the 2026-27 season image
Ahead of the 2026-27 season, the expectations are pretty low when it comes to the Brooklyn Nets. The Eastern Conference has gone up a level with the resurgent Miami Heat and the new-look Philadelphia 76ers.
That is why it is harder for a team like the Nets to step up and compete against the best of the best. However, it seems that new arrival Julius Randle is ready to shatter all the expectations that people may have of Brooklyn.
Julius Randle believes the Nets can exceed expectations
It is interesting to look at the Nets because they seem to still be in a rebuild. They have a mostly young team, but they also have some veterans who are ready to compete with both Randle and Michael Porter Jr.
Aside from Moritz Wagner and Terance Mann, they are the only players older than 28 on the roster. Despite that, it seems they are ready to compete at the highest level under head coach Jordi Fernandez in the 2026-27 season.

As the natural leader for this current Nets team, it seems that Randle wants his teammates to have a winning attitude. The expectations are pretty low, so Randle wants his team to compete better.
"Whatever your expectations are, whatever expectations are put upon us, we’re going to exceed them. We’re going to do things at a very high level," Randle said, as he believes the Nets are ready to shock people.
It will be quite challenging for the Nets to beat out many Eastern Conference teams, but they are ready to compete. With Randle serving as one of the leading players, they can surprise people.
