Arsenal Are‘Leading’The Race To Sign Norwegian Wonderkid Who Broke Record Held By Odegaard

**Arsenal and Chelsea are “leading the charge” to sign Valerenga winger Gabriel Rajkovic, according to reports.**

[_TEAMtalk_](https://www.teamtalk.com/arsenal/arsenal-chelsea-compile-gabriel-rajkovic-transfer-dossiers-exclusive) claim that the Gunners have sent scouts to watch the 15-year-old in action, and they have “compiled extensive” reports on the player.

There is plenty of competition for Rajkovic’s signature. In addition to Chelsea, the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are keeping close tabs on his progress as well.

Multiple teams in mainland Europe are also said to be keen admirers of the teenager, who is already playing senior football for Valerenga.

Why is Rajkovic in such high demand?

------------------------------------

The Norwegian Under-16 international became the youngest player ever to play in Norway’s Eliteserien when he came on as a late substitute against Sandefjord in March. Martin Odegaard had held the record up until that point.

Rajkovic then scored his first senior goal against Bodo/Glimt last month during a 2-1 defeat. He bagged another against Christiania in the Norwegian Cup before getting on the scoresheet again versus Sarpsborg a week ago.

He is two-footed and can play either as a winger or as a centre-forward. All three of his starts at senior level so far have come as a striker.

Arsenal cannot officially sign him for several years

----------------------------------------------------

The Premier League champions would have to wait until he turns 18 in February 2029 to snap him up due to both FIFA regulations and UK visa rules.

It does not, however, stop them from securing a pre-agreement with the player and his club Valerenga. This is something they have arranged with another young prospect, [**Andria Bartishvili**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-andria-bartishvili-4/). The young Georgian will move to the Emirates on a free transfer from Kolkheti 1913 in March next year.

Rajkovic does, though, have a whole host of other teams pursuing him who may have the same idea as Mikel Arteta’s side.
