Liverpool is already looking ahead to future transfer windows, as planning is being put in place after a summer market that had its challenges.
Andoni Iraola has been left with a mix-and-match squad, a team of players that has a few clear gaps that will need fixing, as well as concerns over imbalance elsewhere.
For now, the manager is having to be pragmatic with the options at his disposal, which does include some quality, but some issues have already arisen over his first few matches.
That's where the winter transfer window, and perhaps even next summer, could come in and save the day, while exits could also be on the cards. So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors ahead of another busy day of action.
Rio Ngumoha (Liverpool)

After a breakout season, Rio Ngumoha is looking to kick on with Liverpool this season to become a guaranteed starter. While challenges are ahead, the youngster has risen to them all so far.
That has naturally led to links with interest elsewhere. Bayern Munich was rumored to have heavy interest in the summer transfer window; however, no move was made, and it would seem as though the Reds set a clear stance on no sale.
Despite that, Alan Nixon reports on his Patreon that Arsenal is now keeping an eye on Ngumoha as a potential future option. It would seem as though the 18-year-old has emerged as an option for the Gunners, who are looking to improve the frontline after a disappointing summer of missing out on forward targets.
Liverpool.com says: It seems highly unlikely that Liverpool would sell Ngumoha, much less to a domestic rival, so Arsenal's interest would likely prove to be fruitless.
The Reds clearly hold the winger in high regard, having given him plenty of opportunities to shine and show his quality. That should, in turn, lead to faith from him too, with reports elsewhere claiming that a contract extension could be on the cards soon.
Rayan (Bournemouth)

Moving from one potential winger out to one moving in, Liverpool has once again been linked with a move for Bournemouth and Brazil winger Rayan.
The 20-year-old has been rumored to have interest from the Reds in the past, which could see him reunite with Iraola, after the pair worked together in their time with the Cherries.
Football Insider claims that Liverpool could smash its own transfer record, with Rayan's £130 million ($175.9 million) release clause coming into effect next summer.
The Brazilian featured 15 times under Iraola, scoring five goals and landing two assists.
Liverpool.com says: While a move for Rayan would certainly come as little surprise, due to Liverpool's clear need to bolster the right flank, there are some clear concerns.
After splashing out well over $100 million for the likes of Bradley Barcola, Alexander Isak, and Florian Wirtz, the idea that the Reds would immediately do the same for a club-record fee comes as something of a surprise.
Perhaps a deal could be negotiated for lower than that, but there would be many major questions about the transfer spend in the frontline if so.
