In Jacquet and Leoni, Liverpool have two wonderful young centre-back options in their squad, with the pair both possessing an enormous amount of potential.
But hopefully, Van Dijk is still a teammate of theirs beyond this season, with the Netherlands captain still more than good enough to be starting for the Reds.
He isn’t showing many signs of slowing down, even if his absolute peak may have passed, and seeing him depart in 2027 would be a big blow, especially if Alisson does the same.
For now, Jacquet and Leoni should be learning from Van Dijk every day – they couldn’t ask for a better role model – and if they get anywhere close to the skipper’s level, Liverpool will have two gems in their ranks for many years.
